Update from the Foundation

We hope that you and your family are enjoying 2019 so far! Winter sports are in full-swing and second semester is underway for our 1,400 students.   In August 2018, we welcomed the kindergarten Class of 2031 with 117 students, and in May we will celebrate the senior Class of 2019 and their 76 graduates.

As you know, the Hallsville Public School Foundation was founded in 2018 by members of the Hallsville community who wanted to enhance educational opportunities for students in the Hallsville School District through scholarships and grants. Last fall, the foundation applied for 501 (c)(3) non-profit status and we hope to have exciting news to share with you about that soon. We also have kicked off our first campaign with district alumni, talking to them about ways to support students and staff in the district.

The Foundation exists to provide opportunities for students and staff that might not be met through regular budgetary funding.  These opportunities include student scholarships for supplemental educational experiences; school district equipment, facilities, and programs; and professional and educational development for faculty and staff.  The foundation hopes to raise funds to support this mission by bringing together community resources, financial support and volunteers.

We are looking forward to a great 2019, and welcome your support to the Hallsville Public School Foundation.  Our goal for the first quarter is to raise $5,000 through general donations, in addition to seeking yearly independent and corporate sponsors.  The Foundation also currently manages estate gifts and scholarships and is prepared to assist with estate and planned giving for those alumni and community members who wish to leave a legacy gift.

Please join us in celebrating the start of a great organization supporting the students of Hallsville!  Visit www.hallsvillefoundation.org or find us on Facebook @HallsvilleFoundation to learn more about the Hallsville Public School Foundation, and please consider supporting the students of Hallsville.
